My dear friend, Taras Tkachenko passed away on April 10th suddenly and unexpectedly, at the young age of 41. Taras was a brilliant music composer. His musical portfolio consisted of composing full scores for orchestras, feature-length films, television shows and anything or everything for individual artists. After initially becoming friends with Taras at Bard College, Taras completed "Ukrainischer Rhapsodie" which was performed by the American Symphony Orchestra. It was the first time that he had written for an orchestra and was awarded the 'Jacob Druckman prize for innovation and excellence in music composition' by the president of the college, Leon Botstein. Some of the films that Taras worked on included the following: "Betrayal" (2013); "Die Fighting" (2014); "Captured" (2018); and "Even After Everything" (2018).

Between travel for family members, hotels, and taking on all of the expenses for funeral arrangements, the costs are considerable for his family who live out of state. It follows that I am reaching out for your support to help out during this difficult time for Taras's family. The goal is to make to $4,000 to offset the costs.
