It is with a very heavy heart that I share that Tara Schoenwald passed away after a courageous six-year battle with renal carcinoma.
Tara was diagnosed in March 2020, during the height of COVID, and underwent surgery to remove her affected kidney. Throughout the years that followed, Tara moved forward with remarkable strength, both her personal and professional life. She traveled, got married, and welcomed two beautiful daughters, Jordan (age 4) and Sloan (age 3). She also continued to take on new challenges and grow in her career at Bona. As Tara’s cancer metastasized, she endured multiple surgeries, radiation treatments, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy while working full time and raising two young children.
Those of you who worked closely with Tara know she was one of the strongest, most determined, and most positive people you could meet. Tara was also incredibly proud and never one to ask for help—she wouldn’t even let me carry her bag to or from her car after surgeries or treatments. After many conversations, I was finally able to share with her that accepting support is not a sign of weakness; it is simply a way for our Bona Family to show Tara and her family how much we care, in the way they need most right now.
Therefore, this Go Fund Me was created. All funds raised will be placed into a trust established for her daughters, Jordan and Sloan, and will be used solely for their care and support.
Keeping Tara and her family in your thoughts during this difficult time means a great deal. Thank you for your compassion and care during this time.
