My name is Tamekka, and I am the sole caregiver for my mom, who is living with dementia. Being her daughter and her advocate is the most important role I’ve ever had, and I am proud to stand by her side every day. Caring for her is a full-time responsibility, and while I prepared as best I could with life insurance, there are so many expenses that simply aren’t covered.

My mom now requires 24-hour care, and I am a one-woman team doing everything I can to keep her safe and comfortable at home.
