Hi, my name is Michael Elkins and I am starting a fundraiser for my parents, Talbot and Michelle. Back in 2023, they had a minor car accident and after getting a routine full-body check, the accident turned into a life-changing journey for them. The doctors found a very large tumor on my dad’s brain, suspected to be slowly growing for years or even his whole lifetime. The size of it was so concerning that surgery was scheduled very quickly for the removal. Since then, my parents have been on a journey to constantly regulate his blood pressure, avoid seizures and blood clots, etc., all while missing countless days of work and trying to remain present in our lives and events with their 3 (almost 4) grandkids.

Fast-forward to now, January 2026. My dad went to work as usual and he began having a severe headache which quickly led to the Athens Hospital ER having to intubate him and flew him on a plane to Vanderbilt to have a craniotomy to combat a large brain bleed. We are told this will be another long recovery, and my parents are doing their best to chip away on a payment plan for the medical bills from the original brain surgery. I can’t imagine the stress they feel from all of these unexpected challenges, let alone the bills piling up as they just want to get back to a normal everyday life.

We thank God for the many blessings that He has shown to our family through these tough years, and we know that He is our ultimate provider and sustainer. We are beyond blessed with the community of support and the love that has been shown. I just want my parents to be able to focus on their health. Any donation you feel led to make will be extremely useful for them to be able to do this.
