Takumi Sakurai touched lives across Japan, the Pacific Northwest, and Southern California. A beloved friend, mentor, and life of San Diego’s Robata Oton, he was known for bringing people together and lifting others up. From hosting annual beach BBQs in Seattle to celebrating birthdays and playing golf, he has always brought people together with his warmth and generosity.
After a severe stroke, Takumi passed away peacefully. As an organ donor, he saved at least six lives—his final act of generosity.
An only child who lost his parents young, we hope to carry out his wish to be reunited with them and his beloved dog Sho in Japan.
We ask for your support raising funds to act on Takumi’s wish to be laid to rest with them in Japan. Funds will go toward burial arrangements and honoring the legacy of a man who gave so much to others.
Started by one of Takumi’s closest friends of over 20 years, this fundraiser is a tribute to a life well-lived and deeply loved. Every donation helps carry out Takumi’s final wishes and keeps his memory alive in the communities he helped build.
