Dear Family and Friends,

I'm reaching out today not just as an individual, but as a concerned family member, deeply invested in the well-being of someone very dear to me. My sister-in-law, Carrie, is fighting a battle that none of us could have anticipated, she is currently spending her 5th week at UVA Medical Center, amidst a whirlwind of medical uncertainties.

Carrie, who lives with autism and epilepsy, has faced more than her fair share of challenges throughout her life. However, this past year has been particularly unsettling. A series of unexplained medical issues have drastically affected her health, leading to numerous hospital stays and procedures, yet we're still searching for answers.

Among these challenges, Carrie has developed a severe skin condition that has resulted in the loss of all her hair, her inability to eat has caused her to lose a significant amount of weight as well. Carrie's condition has remained a mystery, deteriorating to the point, a feeding tube has now been placed to ensure she receives the nutrients her body desperately needs. Moreover, her situation has become so critical that there is talk of possibly transferring her to the ICU, a thought that weighs heavily on our hearts. These challenges have only compounded the anxiety and uncertainty we all feel, watching helplessly as Carrie continues to fight for her life.

Throughout this ordeal, Calvin and Sandra, Carrie's devoted parents, have been by her side every second of every day. They've not left her side, despite battling their own health issues. Calvin is on the path to recovery from two major heart attacks, and Sandy is recuperating from major bowel surgery.

Their love for Carrie is boundless, but the emotional and financial toll of this prolonged hospital stay is becoming overwhelming. Watching Carrie fight every day without knowing why or how to help has been heart-wrenching for us all. My in-laws, Calvin and Sandra, have been pillars of strength, staying by her side day and night, all while dealing with their own health issues.

The emotional and financial strain on Calvin and Sandra is immense. Hospital bills are mounting, and the uncertainty of Carrie's condition means they are preparing for more challenges ahead. It's a situation no family should ever face alone.
