Support for Susette-In Memory of Frank Slodowski
Donation protected
Some of the worst pain any of us can experience in life is losing a loved one. Making it more difficult is losing someone so suddenly. In times like this, many of us want to help by showing our love and support to the bereaved, which is why I am reaching out through this fundraiser.
It is with great sadness that I received news that my dear friend and colleague Susette Sit lost her beloved husband, Frank Slodowski, on Tuesday, February 04, 2020. Over Thanksgiving, Frank was taken to the hospital after expressing concerns with difficulty breathing and displaying signs of edema. During the month of December, Frank met with different medical specialists, underwent numerous tests and was given multiple medications to try and manage his symptoms while still trying to identify the cause. In January, Frank was re-hospitalized when his condition worsen. Last week, Frank and Susette received the tragic news Frank had lung cancer that had metastasized. Within a week of Frank’s diagnosis, he passed with Susette by his side.
Frank and Susette met at Harman International Industries, Inc. where they both enjoyed long and successful careers. Unfortunately, both were later displaced (laid off) from the company after each achieving 20+ years of service. Sadly, Frank struggled with the job loss and was unable to regain employment. Like a loving and supportive wife, Susette stood by Frank’s side, never complaining or wavering from their commitment to one another. Susette always put her faith in God’s hands, stating he would never give her more than she could handle.
Understandably, the loss of Frank’s former income now coupled with his unexpected medical and memorial expenses, is a lot for Susette to manage on her own. Susette is not the type to ask for anything, so I am reaching out and asking in the spirit of giving for your help. Frank and Susette did not have children of their own and both of their families live out-of-state, so any support from friends, neighbors and co-workers would be greatly appreciated. Funds from this campaign will be distributed directly to Susette to help her pay for any outstanding medical expenses and memorial costs.
Memorial plans are still being arranged, and any updates regarding locations and times will be posted here. Susette and I have received numerous emails, texts and other messages from people inquiring how they can help, so this campaign has been created as a way to keep everyone up-to-date with plans, and also offer a place for messages and donations to be left.
If you would like to donate, please click on the donate button and donate whatever you are able. No amount is too small to give. Please also share this page with your social networks.
