Support for Susan's Fight!!!

As a lot of you know, our precious sister, Mom and MeMe was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer last March 4, 2022. Susan's determined spirit refuses to let this diagnosis win! Despite the challenges she has faced over the last year, she has the faced the challenging journey with courage and grace inspiring those around her with resilience and unwavering spirit. The definition of the word "Fighter" should have Susan's name next to it. We initially took Susan to MD Anderson in Houston and after a 3 month stay, she returned back home to Georgia to continue her treatment. Never once have any of us heard her complain! She continues to keep a smile on her face and will always tell you she's not in pain even if she is miserable! A true WARRIOR in our eyes!

Unfortunately, Susan has had a set back. On March 28, 2023, she developed pneumonia and has been in the hospital since. She has been in the hospital for 25 days at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, GA. She is having complications with pleural effusions on both lungs. She recently received permanent drain tubes and we are hoping to bring her home in the next few days. Susan moved back to Douglas in January and is currently living with her daughter, Cadie, and Grandson Griffin. She is back in the home she grew up in! As a result of everything, Susan is going to need 24/7 care at home. Cadie has taken on the role as her full time caretaker. Cadie has taken a leave from work and Lauren will be traveling back and forth from Brunswick while trying to juggle work, home life and taking care of her 11 year old, Braylee Marie. Susan is so thankful to have both of them by her side fighting this battle with her!
