Dear friends,

Our Momma, Susan Jane Coates, passed away suddenly on February 3rd. It was a complete shock and eerily close to the passing of our father Fred Petty on the 4th. Susan was in good health, and we are unsure of the cause yet, but we are reaching out to the community now to help support costs associated with both her and Fred's passing, including organizing their belongings and cremation.

Susan was a free-spirited, beautiful hippy. She could often be found alone up on the mountain, living life just as she pleased. She enjoyed baking goodies, working and volunteering at the Tonasket Co-op and was a lifelong learner, pursuing degrees in psychology later in life. Among her life partners, she was with Fred the longest and even shared her July 6th birthday with him. The timing of their passings, within 12 hours, conjures cosmic forces at work. And while Momma left completely unexpectedly, perhaps that's just how she wanted to go, shooting off to the next adventure.

We appreciate your support and would love to hear your Susan stories. Susan is leaving behind a son (Ahbe) with three grandchildren, a son (Joshua), a daughter (Elizabeth) with two grandchildren, and a community of friends.
