Fundraiser for Susan Ashley Stroke Recovery

I have created this gofundme campaign for My mom, Susan Ashley and her husband, Daryl Ashley as she undergoes intense inpatient rehabilitation for a major ischemic stroke that she had in the left hemisphere of her brain on April 26th.  

Funds will go towards rehabilitation (currently in St. Cloud until at least May 25th then possibly to a facility in Willmar), accessibility gear (ramp, wheelchairs, walkers - we are still learning what will be needed, but there will be things needed to adapt their three level home) and any ongoing treatment and care that she may need.  She was working part time and Daryl and Nikki both work part time in the summer so once she moves home help will be required in the home when Daryl and Nikki cannot be with her.

On the morning of April 26th, Sue was found in her home when she did not show up for her usual routine of picking up the grandkids for school before her part time job at their elementary school.  The stroke occurred in her sleep (Daryl leaves for work at 3:30 in the morning and she sleeps in until 5 a.m. or so).  911 was dialed and Sue was rushed to Rice Hospital Emergency room then to St. Cloud to the NEURO unit to receive treatment and hopefully start the recovery process.  She was not able to get to the St. Cloud neuro facility in time (the helicopters were not flying due to greatly overcast skies) for a procedure that may have cut her recovery process down by a great deal.  

The road that Sue has ahead of her is long and she will need the 
love and support of her family, friends, community and more. I know that my mom and Daryl will appreciate any help that you are able to give to the cause. 

Already, Sue is regaining many skills and we are so proud of her! She is doing great! One of the Roosevelt Elementary kiddos made her a card that said "SUPER SUE" and made it in the form of a comic book (cape and all) and I really think she is "SUPER SUE."
