Support for Super Dave's Final Journey

Dear Friends of Dave Pavelko,

Sweet Dave (“Super Dave”) Pavelko lost his pancreatic cancer battle this week. Dave – just shy of 51 years old - put up a brave fight. Through it all Dave was strong, steady, smart, and witty. Dave was truly appreciative of any and every gesture – he was a great guy and friend to many. It’s been heartbreaking to watch.

Dave grew up sailing the Milford, CT area, crewed on boats nationally and internationally and ran a number of Long Island Sound race boats. He was a gifted sailor but even a better shipmate! He was so well read and informed, you could talk with him about most anything. If you were lucky to sail with him, you know the joy and peace he brought to any boat!

Dave leaves his wife Cara and twelve-year-old daughter Leila to carry on. Dave and Leila had a very special bond – through his sickness he always considered her well-being and happiness first.

As their journey the past year has been very difficult, the road ahead brings a whole new set of challenges and adjustments. Leila and Cara sure could use help as they navigate the next phase with funds for Dave's final expenses and support Leila with what she will need. Donations from this Go Fund Me will be used exclusively to offset the cost of Dave's medical and final expenses. Any remaining funds will be moved directly to the “The Leila Rose Pavelko 2024 Trust” established by Leila’s relatives. More information about the Trust is included in the below obituary.
