Sue Ellen Marie Quinlan-Wood of Dayton, Kentucky was born May 19, 1981 and died April 1, 2026. She was born on the El Paso, Texas Army military base to her parents Richard and Lisa. Though her childhood was difficult, Sue Ellen was close with her siblings. Sue Ellen graduated high school from Hamilton High (Hamilton, Ohio) in 1999. She attended Pennsylvania Culinary (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) in 1999-2000 in aspirations of becoming a pastry chef, but she continued those dreams within her own home. She would frequently attend marching band events to support her sister and brother while they were in high school.

Sue Ellen was an avid reader who enjoyed escaping into the different worlds through the characters' eyes. She enjoyed music of all kinds which brought her so much happiness. Growing up, she would share popular music songs with her younger sister while they created dances or sang in harmonies. She was a baptized and practicing Christian. Sue Ellen had participated in several worship dance groups while attending church. Most recently she would attend church services of Germantown Presbyterian Church in Germantown, Tennessee where her sister is a choir member. Sue Ellen was a caretaker for family members’ while they experienced chronic illnesses, which included her maternal grandfather and mother. Though giving herself fully in those situations may have been overlooked and thankless, she prevailed and led with kindness.

She met her husband Joe through Facebook Dating on May 10, 2022. A week before Christmas 2022, they got engaged. After dating for a few years, they had an intimate court house wedding ceremony on April 21, 2025. Sue and Joe shared many interests together and Joe allowed Sue to express herself freely. He supported Sue Ellen’s love for the colour pink, Disney movies and Harry Potter; she is a self proclaimed Ravenclaw. He cared for her deeply, even when she struggled with her mental and physical wellness. In late 2025 Sue Ellen was able to reconnect with her siblings after many years of being estranged due to the behavior of their mother. Sue Ellen’s sister, Krystal, was assisting her through the healing process of trauma and rebuilding their relationship. Sue Ellen’s brother would share what was occurring in his life and with her nephew.

Sue Ellen is preceded in death by her mother, Lisa Edridge Quinlan, maternal grandfather, Charles Eldridge; aunts, Denise and Helen Quinlan; uncle, Charlie Eldridge; paternal grandmother, Toni Stitzel; and maternal grandmother, Iris Eldridge. Sue Ellen is survived in death by her husband, Joe Wood; father, Richard F. Quinlan; sister, Krystal Actis-Benford (Alex); Brother, Richard C.
