On Friday, April 17, 2026, my life changed in an instant.
I suffered a sudden stroke that caused me to collapse. As I fell, I hit my head and began seizing — and during that seizure, my heart stopped.
By some miracle, my husband Scott was home. He got me to the ER quickly, and that decision saved my life.
When we arrived, I couldn’t speak. I didn’t know my own name. I couldn’t understand what was happening around me. It took hours before I could begin to form words again.
In just a matter of minutes, everything about our lives changed.
While I am incredibly grateful to be here, I am now facing a difficult recovery. I am unable to safely care for our children on my own, and I can no longer drive. Simple, everyday tasks are no longer simple.
Because of this, my husband Scott — our family’s sole provider — has had to step away from work to care for me and our children. His time off is unpaid, and we are now without income during a time when we need stability the most.
We are not asking for help with medical bills — we are asking for help to keep our household afloat while I recover.
Funds raised will go toward:
• Rent and utilities
• Groceries and basic necessities
• Transportation to medical appointments
• Supporting our children during this transition
This has been one of the most frightening and overwhelming experiences of our lives. As a mom, not being able to care for my children the way I always have is incredibly hard.
Right now, our focus is on healing, staying together, and taking things one day at a time.
If you’re able to donate, share, or simply keep our family in your thoughts, it would mean everything to us.
Thank you for helping us get through this.
With love and gratitude,
Samantha
