Support for Steven Martin & Family During Cancer Battle

Friends and Family,

As many of you know, for the past 9 years my brother Steven has been courageously battling stage 4 peritoneal mesothelioma. He underwent surgery when this first started and was fortunate to have quite a few years of living a normal life with his wife Amanda and two sons Eli (13) and Matthew (11)

Unfortunately, over the past year, he has come out of remission and his cancer has returned aggressively. His tumors have spread and shown growth in all areas at scans. Since October, due to an extremely high white blood cell count and lungs filling with fluid, he has been in and out of the hospital to receive blood transfusions and to get his lungs drained several times, until his most recent surgery - in which a drain was put into his lungs.

Currently, Steven is too weak for chemo or radiation and unable to walk on his own. This has obviously led to him being unable to work and Amanda needing to take time off from her job as a teacher in order to care for him.

Steven, Amanda and the boys have shown tremendous strength throughout this entire journey, and have remained positive. However, the financial burdens they have and continue to face are immense.

With the family's permission - we are asking for assistance to support the Martin family during this time. Any funds raised here go toward easing the burden of medical care - including in-home assistance, and hopefully alleviating some of the stress they are facing in supporting Steven during this time.

The road ahead will be a challenging one. We are all immensely grateful for any amount of support.
