This past week, our dear friends Steven and Chaz experienced the unimaginable loss of their precious daughter, who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday, March 5, due to breathing complications. She was 15 years old and had lived her entire life with Pitt-Hopkins Syndrome, a rare condition that left her dependent on a wheelchair and extensive daily care. Despite these challenges, she was full of life. With the help of her communication software, she was wonderfully chatty with her family, and her days were filled with love, dedication, and the constant support of those who cared for her—including her physical therapist who helped her continue engaging with the world around her. On Thursday, Steven fought desperately to save his daughter, performing CPR until the ambulance and medics arrived. Despite every effort, they were unable to resuscitate her. Steven and Chaz, along with their family, are now navigating the deep grief of this loss. Anyone who knows this family knows their quiet strength and work ethic. They are the kind of people who carry their burdens privately and would never think to ask for help themselves. In this moment of profound loss, we want to surround them as friends and family and lift some of the unexpected financial weight that comes with a tragedy like this. Our hope is to give them the space to grieve, rest, and be together as a family without the immediate pressure to return to work. If you feel led to give, your support will be a tangible way to care for this family during an incredibly painful season. Every contribution, prayer, and act of kindness is deeply appreciated as we come alongside them in love.
