On December 2, 2025, I lost my husband, Steve Yazell, after complications from surgery and multiple ICU visits. Losing him has been the most painful and life altering experience of my life. Steve was not only my husband, but my partner, my strength, and the heart of our family.

For 26 years my husband lived as a paraplegic. Despite the physical limitations and constant medical challenges that came with his disability, he faced life with such strength and determination. He endured countless doctor visits, procedures, and hospital stays, yet he never stopped showing up for the people he loved. He worked hard to provide for our family around the house and remained a source of support and stability, even while managing his own pain and health struggles.

At just 63 years old, Steve passed away due to complications following surgery and hospitalization. His passing was sudden and devastating, leaving our family financially unprepared. Steve was the primary provider for our household, without him, i'm also taking a decrease in income. As someone who is also disabled, I am now struggling to cover even our most basic expenses while grieving the loss of my husband.

In addition to the emotional toll, I am now facing the costs of his cremation and memorial service, along with outstanding medical bills, credit card balances, and other debts left behind. Unfortunately, due to the circumstances surrounding his passing, Steve wasn't able to leave much financially to help ease this burden.

Asking for help is incredibly difficult, but I am doing so because our family truly needs it. Any donation will go directly toward funeral and memorial expenses, remaining debts, and helping me and our family stay afloat during this overwhelming time of loss and transition.
