We cannot thank you all enough for you support, kind words, and prayers for Steve. This weekend he flew back to Sonoma County with the help of his sisters to recieve pallative care. We wish that we had better news to share with you, please continue to keep Steve and family in your thoughts.
Update: Thank you all for rallying together in support of Steve and his family. Unfortunately Steve has received a diagnosis of ALS, and is back home in Mexico pursuing treatment. Below is an update from Steve, although he is facing hurdles with his physical symptoms he is not giving up, so please send him all the love and good thoughts that you can.
-The Schulz Family
"Hello all friends and family! Much appreciation for all the support at this time. My trip to the UCSF ALS Clinic confirmed my feeling of the symptoms...I have ALS. Unfortunately I am dealing with the more drastic version, Loss of 40lbs of muscle, loss of ability to speak, breath, walk and eat and drink well. The FDA in the U.S. has yet to find a cure. I was given one specific pill though it has historically only extended a month or two for patients in the pass. Hence I am back home in Mexico and have found one particular medicine online called DeannaProtocol and have also found a treatment location here called PRMEDICA where the doctor is quite certain they can help me with particular treatments. Of course the main hurdle is I have not been able to work all year. I so appreciate any financial support at this time which will enable me to recieve the help. Sending big hugs to you all!"
We are reaching out to you for your help for our dear friend, brother, uncle, and grandfather Steve Schulz. Anyone who has had the pleasure of getting to know Steve knows what a compassionate and giving person he is. Over the last few months Steve began to experience a variety of debilitating symptoms which affected his speech, mobility, and ability to work and support his family. He is currently undergoing various tests to determine the cause of his debilitating symptoms. As his symptoms progress doctors are leaning towards a potential diagnosis for ALS, and he will be undergoing testing this week where he will hopefully receive some answers. Steve has been residing in Mexico for the past 25-plus years, so his access to medical facilities is limited and often requires long-distance travel within Mexico.
This fundraiser was created by Steve’s niece, and all donations will go straight to Steve to provide for living expenses and medical bills. Thank you for all your love and support of Steve and his family during their time of need!
