My husband Stephen Barrett struggled with mental health issues throughout our entire marriage of 24 years, and drug addiction for the majority of our marriage. He tried to get help over and over, entering and leaving mental health facilities, but they only held him for less than a week, Other than when we first got married. Despite his efforts, he couldn't seem to break free from his struggles. This last time, Stephen told the facility his plan, but they released him, and he ended his life two days later.
I am now facing funeral expenses and need short-term help with bills as we navigate our loss. Your support will help me cover these immediate costs and give me some breathing room as I figure out the next steps. Thank you so much for any help you can give. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us during this difficult time. We are grateful for the support of friends, family, and the community.
I also want to honor Stephen's memory and help others by letting you know, there is help out there and that you are not alone.
