Support For Stephanie Mateus & Son Anthony

Stephanie has been a Jefferson Health New Jersey Patient Service Representative within the Washington Township/West Berlin community over the past few years.  She most recently took on the role of Lead Patient Service Rep for our West Berlin practice in March 2019.

Stephanie gave birth to Anthony Mateus-Colon via emergency C-section 02/16/2020,  4 weeks premature.  
Anthony developed post delivery complications and was ultimately diagnosed with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome, commonly known as  DiGeorge Syndrome.  
Medical problems associated with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome include heart defects, immunodeficiency , cleft palate, & complications related to low calcium levels in the bloodstream.
Anthony was ultimately transferred to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), a renowned hospital with multidisciplinary experts on this condition.   Anthony's condition did stabilize and he was able to go home in late March.  
He is on a number of medications and requires weekly doctor's appointments in order to monitor his progress and condition.  It is expected that Anthony will undergo cardiac surgery after his 6 month birthday.

As insurance has not fully covered Anthony's care at CHOP, the financial burden on Stephanie and Marc has been tremendous.  We are looking to raise funds to help with Anthony's medical expenses and hospital bills that have already started to pile up.
