Supporting Randy Hittle's Cancer Medical Expenses

Donation protected

Hello everyone, my name is Judy Arneson and my sister Barbie McMillan and I are starting this fundraiser for our sister Joy Hittle. Her husband and our beloved brother in-law Randy Hittle, has been battling terminal/stage 4 kidney cancer that has metastasized to his lungs and brain.

Randy was diagnosed in April, 2023. Kidney Cancer was the first diagnosis and that led to a surgery to remove the cancerous kidney the first week of May. Cancer soon moved to his lungs where he started immunotherapy the end of May and continued through August. While out to dinner on September 5th, for a Birthday celebration for one of his sons, he suffered a seizure and then later a second one, at the hospital. He had an immediate MRI that night and found out that the cancer had metastasized to his brain. While his medical team was formulating a plan of action, he suffered another seizure. They then moved forward with radiation to 13 spots on his brain. Within 24 hrs of his first radiation treatment, he experienced adverse side effects of swelling and bleeding to his brain. He was then put on steroids to reduce the brain swelling and was hospitalized for 2 weeks in Fargo. Soon after discharge, he was re-admitted to the Sauk Centre Hospital for 3 days due to high glucose levels, related to his steroid use. Our sister Joy was finally able to bring him home for less than 2 weeks as she wanted him to have a little normalcy.
Randy and Joy were able to enjoy Thanksgiving with family and then things took a drastic turn for the worse. Randy became unsteady and was unable to bear weight that same weekend. Joy took him to the ER and they performed a CT scan that showed 3 additional new cancerous tumors on his brain. His medical team then unfortunately decided there were no other interventions they could perform. With many heavy hearts, Randy was moved to hospice care soon after.
Our sweet and handsome brother in law is currently at Knute-Nelson Hospice in Alexandria, MN.

Randy and Joy have been sweethearts and happily married for 42 years. They are proud parents of 6 children (one daughter and 5 sons) and 8 beautiful grandkids that they adore. All the love is evident in the pictures. Randy was looking forward to celebrating his 50th Work Anniversary next year with Center Point Energy. He has many friends through his work and also the Hockey Community in Alexandria. All 5 of his boys grew up playing hockey in either Sauk Centre and/or Alexandria and he was actively involved, including coaching for both towns. He also enjoyed driving the Zamboni in Alexandria for many years.

As Randy has been the sole provider for his family, Joy is currently experiencing incoming medical bills beyond what insurance has/is paying currently. If you are able and are willing to help in any way, it would be deeply and greatly appreciated.
We realize this time of year may be a difficult time to give, the
family would also welcome any visits and many prayers.

Thank you for your time in reading this, and any way that you might be able to support the Hittle family during this very difficult time. Please pray for Joy, her family and our extended family.

Merry Christmas and May God Bless you all...
