For those who know me, you know I’ve always been the strong one—the resilient one—the person who shows up, takes care of everything, and supports everyone around me. I’ve built a life around being dependable and self-sufficient. But now, I find myself in a place where I need to lean on my community, on friends, family, and even compassionate strangers for support.

In June 2025, I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It was a moment that changed everything. Since then, I’ve been navigating a whirlwind of medical appointments, treatments, and emotional ups and downs. The physical toll is immense, but the financial burden is just as overwhelming. I’m reaching out with humility and hope, asking for help to ease some of that financial strain so I can focus my energy on healing.

I’ve spent my career working in the Film and TV industry—a world of creativity, collaboration, and unpredictability. As a freelance gig worker, I’ve experienced both the highs of exciting projects and the quiet stretches, and at times, financial hardship between gigs that sometimes made it challenging to save the “safety net” monies.

With this recent diagnosis and the exhausting side effects of Chemotherapy treatments on a bi-weekly basis, I’ve had to step away from work entirely. That means no income, no benefits, mounting medical expenses, keeping up with rent, food, and utility bill has simply become almost impossible to manage alone.

I’m asking for help as I need to raise funds to get me through this coming year. The funds raised will go directly toward covering the costs of living, as well as costs associated with chemotherapy, surgical interventions, and a range of supportive therapies, including naturopathic treatments that will help mitigate unwanted symptoms from all of the harsh treatments. My aim is to keep my immune system strong, and do my best to maintain a comfortable quality of life. These therapies are not always covered by insurance, but they are vital to my care plan and overall well-being.

• Surgical procedures and hospital care

• Naturopathic and integrative therapies (to manage side effects, support my immune system, and improve quality of life)

• Supplements, specialized nutrition, and transportation to and from treatments
