Support for Stacey Brown - Cancer Sucks
Donation protected
“Cancer sucks, but I am going to make sure this year is memorable for as many things as possible to cancel it out. So what do you do when you get diagnosed with cancer? Everything”
These words come from an incredibly strong woman, navigating an aggressive form of cancer at only 35 years young.
We are creating this GoFundMe to raise money for Stacey Brown while she goes through a year long chemotherapy protocol and then surgeries. During this time, she will be off work and anything we can do for her will be a great help to them financially and mentally take the load off so she can focus on her treatments, staying positive and kicking cancer's butt. Stacey is a friend, a partner, and advocate for our furry friends. While being a loved part of our oncology team at the CARE Centre Veterinary Hospital, we can only hope to show her the love and support she shows our furry friends. With our support, we hope Stacey can spend as much time with her loved ones, her horses, painting, paddle boarding and just embracing life to the fullest.
Over the past month Stacey has been filling her time with ALL the things she has wanted to do on top of navigating countless medical appointments and figuring out how she will beat this diagnosis and she is ready to share her story publicly and this is what she wrote to share with the world;
“It would appear that I have breast cancer. I am a rare presentation; I am HER2 positive, hormone receptor negative, and my biopsies have been categorized as grade 3. My original presentation is called Paget's disease. I do not carry the BRCA gene, and I have no family history of breast cancer.
I know I will get through this. I am in great hands, and I have a dermatologist to thank for trusting her gut for the fast diagnosis and getting the ball rolling as quickly as possible. I am eternally grateful to that woman for catching it early. I will be starting chemotherapy next week, and then that will be followed with a bilateral mastectomy. I am scared, but I have an incredible support network that is putting up with my chaos and helping me stay active and positive. There will be some hard days but I know I am loved by incredible people who will help me get through it all.”
While we know donating is not possible for all, even just sharing her story is immensely helpful and we couldn’t be more thankful of any and all help no matter how big or small.
