Unfortunately, things have gotten dark for me, and I am in need of support from friends and my community to make it through this difficult time. As many of you know, I was laid off from my job at the Los Angeles Times nearly two years ago and have been unable to find consistent work since. After two years without steady income, all of my savings and unemployment benefits have run out. I have managed to mesh together a few part time and freelance gigs to get back on my feet, but I’m still in a very precarious place. Despite things being difficult, I am determined to get to the other side of this, but I can’t do that without the help of my support system.
