As many of you have seen in the news, wildfires have been tearing through the Pacific Northwest this season. In the Spokane region, the destruction has been especially severe. Entire neighborhoods have been forced to evacuate, and far too many families have watched everything they worked so hard to build go up in flames.

One of those families is my friend and a brother. In a matter of hours, the fire took their home and nearly everything inside, years of memories, belongings, and the sense of safety that a house is supposed to provide. They are safe, which is the greatest blessing, but the loss has left them shaken and facing an uncertain road ahead.
