Support for Sound Movement Arts Center
Donation protected
We are all in the midst of the hardship, struggle, and confusion brought on by the COVID-19 global pandemic. But despite our fear and frustrations, countless stories are being told of the beauty of the human spirit, people rising up to serve their communities with love, hard work, and sacrifice. We need the arts, now more than ever, they help us translate our human experience and give us a center to return to when we need to remember who we are.
Unfortunately, just like you, our dance studio is caught up in the middle of this struggle. Bills are due and we absolutely want to pay our dedicated staff, who are working hard from their own homes to try and bring even a small semblance of joy and normalcy to your children. We know you are all facing the financial unknown with us, some won't be able to pay dance classes this month, or the next, but we are a dance family and want to support each other.
If you are able to donate, even just a small amount, your money will be used to provide lessons of a child whose family may be in of need a extra support from the community, to pay our devoted instructors, and to ensure that our studio remains open for all. Just $25 pays for half a month tuition, and $50 covers average tuition for one student for one month. SMAC has over 140 families, 160 children, as part of our family, can you please donate to ensure that each child is able to continue experiencing the joy of dance? Our teachers and students are dancing together through live videos and virtual classes because we simply cannot stop! As soon as possible, we will be back in the studio, and back in the community, continuing our tradition of performing at neighborhood festivals, parades, nursing homes, and schools, and of course, our year end recital to show off everything we have accomplished in the past year-which this year, will be more than ever before! Your support means that each of our dancers will still have the opportunity to be part of that magical experience.
We don't do it for the money, we do it because of who we are, because we live and love to see the spark of creativity light up a child's face.
