Sophie and David Collins were eagerly awaiting the arrival of their twin girls in April 2026. Their excitement turned to heartbreak when a sudden medical emergency required Sophie to deliver via c-section on December 28, 2025. Tragically, one of their daughters was stillborn, and their surviving twin was born weighing just 2 lbs 3 ozs. She was immediately transported to the NICU at Crouse Hospital, where she will need a lengthy stay to grow stronger and recover from her premature birth.
This unexpected turn has placed an enormous emotional and financial strain on Sophie and David. David is a self-employed professional painter, and the long road ahead means significant lost wages as he prioritizes being present for his family. The costs of traveling to and from Syracuse, daily expenses like food and tolls, and the uncertainty of their daughter's hospital stay have added to their burden. There will also be funeral costs for their stillborn daughter.
Sophie and David are facing unimaginable grief while also fighting for their daughter's health. Your support will help ease some of the financial stress, allowing them to focus on their family and their daughter's recovery. Thank you for standing with them during this difficult time. Even if you can't donate, please share this fundraiser with others who may be able to help.
