Support for Sophie and Liam Beyer

If you've followed the Beyer family's journey this past year, you've cried tears and prayed with them as they have struggled to find answers for the unusual health issues Sophie and Liam are facing. I know many have wanted a way to be the hands and feet of Christ to them during this time. We are setting up this fundraiser as a tangible way to be just that to them as they continue to seek answers and healing.

While they do have medical insurance, there are still many out of pocket expenses, including: physical therapy, pain relief therapy, upcoming travel expenses during Sophie's surgery, expenses for a functional doctor to get mold testing and treatment. All of these things quickly add up! Raising $10,000 would cover immediate expenses, but $25,000 would give a cushion for tests and treatments still coming.

In case you haven’t caught all of their family updates, here is what they’re facing. Sophie has been diagnosed with Syringomyelia, Nutcracker syndrome, May-Thurner syndrome (MTS), Pelvic congestion syndrome, and more. Liam has also been diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome and a vocal cord disorder. These diagnoses have all hit their family since January 2021.

So far they've kept busy with doctor’s appointments and therapies to strengthen the kids and to try and find answers to all the unknowns. Sophie faces an upcoming autotransplant surgery far from home as well genetic testing to figure out the root of these issues. There may be additional surgeries but that won't be known until after the transplant is finished. All of the conditions she’s battling are progressive. The surgery will require them to be away from home for a month.

They also recently found out that they had toxic mold in their previous home. They will be visiting a functional medicine doctor to receive specific testing and therapies regarding their exposure to mold. Those visits will likely be an out of pocket expense.
