Sophia was a smart, funny, beautiful girl. She was the best big sister in the short time she was with her siblings. She cared for her family and friends, showing it in different ways—whether it was sharing her favorite shows or wanting to play games with them, especially Uno. She had her whole life ahead of her, with endless possibilities for her future. Her fun, amazing personality shines through in every memory we have of her.
Last night, our lives changed forever. We were rear ended by a drunk driver while I had all three of my children in the car—Sophia, Felix (1 year old), and Ophelia (just 1 month old). The accident was devastating. Our vehicle was totaled, and Sophia was ejected 25 feet from the car. She has been declared brain dead. The pain of this loss is unimaginable, and it’s hard to find the words to describe what our family is going through right now.
We are raising funds to help cover hospital bills, potential funeral costs for Sophia, and moving expenses. Being in our current home, surrounded by memories of Sophia, is too painful for us. We need to find a new place to begin healing. I appreciate anything you do more than you know, and I ask that you share Sophia’s story. If more people know, maybe more people will think before driving drunk. Thank you for your support and kindness during this impossible time.
