Help Support Sonya, Marco, Anna & Rose ❤️

To know Sonya is to love her. She brings energy, warmth and life wherever she goes. She has killer moves on the dance floor, is our local ski club’s Apres Queen two years running, and is an incredible host who loves bringing people together. She is outgoing, driven, smart and genuinely interested in the people around her. Sonya is the kind of person who makes others feel welcome, shows up when it matters, and gives wholeheartedly to the things she cares about.

Sonya is an incredible mom to Anna (10) and Rose (7), a loving wife to Marco, and a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, friend and community member. She has also given so much back to our community through her work with the SPCA and Georgian Triangle Humane Society. Her passion for animals and commitment to helping others are just a few of the many things that make her so special. She has spent so much of her time and energy making life better for others, and now it's our turn to show up for her.

Over Thanksgiving weekend, Sonya suffered multiple seizures and was rushed to Toronto to undergo brain surgery. They were able to remove one tumour, and unfortunately discovered more in inoperable parts of the brain. While we wait for pathology results to determine the best course of treatment, we know that the tumours are malignant gliomas and will require intensive and exhaustive treatment. We know that she and her family face a long and challenging road ahead.

Marco is a self-employed tree specialist, and we want to help make it possible for him to take time away from his business to be by Sonya's side and care for their girls. Our hope is to ease the financial pressure so Marco can focus on being the backbone of their family through this incredibly difficult time, without the added worry of lost income and keeping their household running.
