Hi,

I am Mateo Sosnik and I would like to share about Sonrisas Foundation, a foundation for poor kids and families in Argentina that I have visited personally and been supporting for more than 2 years now.

Sonrisas is an organization founded in 2004 which helps kids coming from poor neighborhoods in the outskirts of the capital: Buenos Aires, Argentina, receive the education they deserve. There are 300+ kids who go to one of the three Sonrisas centers everyday in Buenos Aires.

Sonrisas supports kids learning in language, math, history and more. This is not only an education center, but it also provides afterschool activities for recreation, sports and arts.

Donating to this program would help provide children from low-income families with access to quality education to achieve the dreams of a brighter future. Your support would help fund their newest and more needed center called “Las Chacritas,”. With this campaign they plan to to hire eight more teachers, and make the center bigger and better. Education is one of the most powerful tools for breaking the poverty cycle, and every contribution creates an important impact.

While visiting Sonrisas last summer, I was able to witness the poverty and lack of support given to those kids, and it inspired me to try to make a change. That day was a weekend and I saw kids playing in a soccer field and others play in a dance and music band, instead of being on the street. While their parents were learning new skills, they were in a barber workshop class for people interested in cutting hair for a living.

Since Sonrisas is an international foundation, I have decided to have a similar nonprofit called ForLatam transfer Sonrisas the donations since ForLatam is founded inside of the United States. ForLatam is very well trusted and we recommend helping them out too!
