I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my mom, Sonja, during one of the hardest times in her life.

"With a heavy and grieving heart, I am reaching out for help after the passing of my husband, Steve.

Steve, my husband of 21 years, recently passed away after a long and difficult battle with diabetes and its complications. In the last months of his life, he endured stage 5 kidney failure requiring dialysis, multiple hospitalizations, heart attacks, congestive heart failure, vision loss, and a leg amputation. Despite it all, he fought with strength and determination until the very end.

Steve did not have life insurance, and I am now facing unexpected medical bills along with funeral and cremation expenses. The financial burden has become overwhelming, and I am humbly asking for help during this incredibly difficult time.

Steve was a kind and hardworking man who loved the outdoors and animals. We met in Parks, Arizona, where we spent time driving through the Ponderosa forests, watching elk, deer, javelina, and even the occasional mountain lion. He loved fishing and found peace in nature.

After losing his CDL due to complications from diabetes, Steve continued to work hard and found joy working on a horse ranch—something he truly loved as a lifelong horseman. We later lived in Superior and Helena, Montana, where we were surrounded by mountains, wildlife, and the life he cherished.

Steve was always the one who took care of me. Now, I want to make sure he is laid to rest with the dignity and peace he deserves.
