Hello All,

Our beloved Skyla is really, really sick. She has been diagnosed with a very rare and unusual type of cancer that is aggressively attacking her CNS (Central Nervous System). It is having prolonged effects on her and the future is feeling pretty unknown right now. Skyla has been in the hospital for over two weeks and needing intensive care for most of the time. Her spouse Kathleen left a toxic job and is not able to work while they both navigate all of these sudden changes.

This diagnosis has turned their world upside down. The uncertainty and intensity of Skyla’s illness means that both she and Kathleen are facing not only emotional and physical challenges, but also financial ones. With Kathleen supporting Skyla with the fast paced medical changes, they are basically unable to work, meaning their household is under strain, and the costs of medical care, housing, and daily needs are mounting. They are doing everything they can to stay strong and present for each other, but the stress of financial insecurity makes this journey even harder.

Any and all financial support would be so unbelievably helpful so they can spend time together without concern for losing their housing and other forms of security. We are thankful for all support to allow them dignity while they navigate these huge transitions of ability and health.
