After 14 years (5 with me), I have had to make the decision to say goodbye to my beloved cat Thicc Skittles. She has been diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease and she is in pain while urinating. She has slowed down on eating and drinking water, and has been urinating on the floor while yowling. The kindest thing to do is to say goodbye.
Her appointment is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13 at 3:30 PM. The vet has said it will cost around $500 ($226 for the procedure, $53 for a paw print, $213 for cremation and ashes). She has been my faithful companion and I owe it to her to help her through this with dignity.
I am on a limited budget as right now one paycheck goes to rent and car payment, and my other paycheck is split between student loans, groceries, car insurance, internet, healthcare for myself and the cat, food and supplies for the cat, and any other bills that need paying. This unexpected $500 expense is sudden and something I have not had time to prepare for.
Any help is appreciated in helping my sweet Skittles rest in peace.
