Support for Skip’s Recovery After Hurricane Ian

Hurricane Ian ravaged Ft. Myers, Florida this week.
My father Skip has lived there for over 20 years. He is a fortunate survivor.

He was trapped in the flood water in his home for several hours, and was rescued at 3:00am Thursday morning, September 29th.

Skip’s home at the Siesta Bay trailer park was destroyed, along with all of his possessions.

He’s being housed and cared for, along with many friends and neighbors, at a temporary shelter at South Fort Myers High School.

We are organizing resources to help Skip to move up to New England, to be closer to his family and to make a new home for himself.

As you can imagine, there's a lot to be done.
Many people have already reached out to ask how he is doing, and how they might help. We’ve created this Go Fund Me to help cover the costs of his transportation, food, clothing, furnishings and other immediate needs.

Skip would like to remind everyone that he is far more fortunate than others in his area. He humbly appreciates whatever you might consider donating to him or to the Red Cross, Project Hope, Save the Children, or other reputable agencies currently supporting the Ft. Myers community at large.

Thank you to everyone, from the bottom of our hearts.

(Please note, the photo shown here is from a nearby park. We don't have a photo from his specific neighborhood).
