Bula family and friends,
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our dear friend, teammate, and extraordinary human being, Sitiveni Naivota. He left this world peacefully on Sunday, May 11, surrounded by his family.
Just last Monday, Siti returned to his beloved Fiji with Jim, Kristin, and Emma—a place he cherished deeply. Although his time back was shorter than we had all hoped, he was embraced by the presence of loved ones, old friends, and the familiar beauty of his homeland. It comforts us that he spent his final moments in a place filled with love.
As we prepare to say our final goodbyes, we are passing around a rugby cap to collect donations to support Siti's family with funeral costs. Siti passed away in Nadi, and according to his wishes, he will be laid to rest alongside his sister, mother, and father—a Chief of Kadavu Island—in Suva, Fiji— a fitting resting place for such an honorable friend.
Let us unite one last time, just as we would on the rugby pitch, to support our beloved friend. If you had the privilege of sharing a conversation with Sitiveni or visiting him in our home, we thank you for cherishing those moments as we celebrate his life and legacy.
Vinaka vaka levu ~ deepest thanks.
Vuli mai na Nuku, me vakamai mai
The ocean sighs, a whispered prayer,
As sands of time begin to sear.
A weary soul, a fading light,
Returns to home, to end the night.
The coconut palms, my memory calls,
As gentle breezes kiss the walls.
The village chants, a lullaby sweet,
To mark my soul's approaching feat.
The river flows, a winding road,
To where my ancestors have flowed.
The warmth of sun, a loving grace,
Reflects upon my weary face.
No longer bound by distant shore,
I'll rest in peace, forevermore.
The land I loved, my final stage,
To turn the final, silent page.
