Support for Elsa’s Recovery After Brain Surgery
Donation protected
If you had told me a week ago that I’d be typing this, I wouldn’t have believed you.
Last Thursday, we got the news that my little sister, Elsa, needed emergency brain surgery to remove a tumor that was on her ocular nerve causing her to lose her sight. I made it back in town to be with her that night, and by Friday morning at 8 a.m., she was being wheeled into the OR. Ten long hours later, her neurosurgeon came out and told us it had been a tough but successful surgery.
As her sister and as a mom, it’s been heartbreaking to see Elsa, my brother-in-law, Jesse, and little Charlie go through this. Even in Elsa’s first moments awake, she asked about Charlie girl first. That’s just who she is. After days of not seeing Charlie, today she was finally able to hold her for a bit.
Right now, I want her to focus on healing, not finances. She won’t be able to do any type of work for the next three months, and I want to do everything I can to ease that burden.
If you feel it in your heart to bless them with any amount to help cover expenses during this time, my family and I would be forever grateful. Life with a newborn is already challenging, and the last thing I want is for them to worry about anything other than healing and adjusting to this new chapter. Your kindness, prayers, and support mean the world to us—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. God bless you a thousandfold for your generosity.
