My children have been through so much, including abuse from family members and the trauma of our family breaking apart. I am doing everything I can to keep them safe and give them a better future, but right now, we are struggling.
I have a severe spinal injury with 7-9 bulging and herniated disks, and I recently had knee surgery. My work history is complicated because I traveled for the PGA Tour, working for companies based in different states. Because of this, I was denied disability and have no income. After my surgery, my ex left, and I am now the only one here to care for my kids. Every day is a challenge—just getting them to and from school on the bus is painful, and I am still in recovery, getting injections and going to physical therapy. We are two months behind on rent, and I can’t afford WiFi, which I need to find remote work and support my family. The kids will need clothes for the upcoming season, and I am struggling to provide even the basics. They also need their own rooms for stability and comfort. I am also waiting for HRA to get back to me, and Con Edison bills are piling up. All my family has passed away or lives far from the neighborhood, so I have no support nearby.
I have a 16-year extensive career with the PGA Tour and have previously worked as a talent coordinator, production manager, and executive assistant for CBS with the NFL Today Show. I also have experience with electrics from working for Golf Cart Express, though I do not have certifications. If anyone has connections or can help me find a job, especially in TV networks or remote work, I would be incredibly grateful. I am determined to do whatever it takes to get back on my feet.
