Our family is facing a loss that words can barely begin to describe. We recently lost my beautiful 10 year old nephew, and our hearts are completely shattered. He was one of those rare kids who brought warmth and light wherever he went. He was smart, kind, funny, and had a heart that was bigger than most people twice his age. Everyone gravitated toward him. Whether it was family, friends, or people meeting him for the first time, there was something about him that made people smile. He had a way of making others feel included and cared about. Even at just 10 years old, he had already taken on the role of being the big brother of the family. He looked out for everyone around him and always wanted to make sure the people he loved were okay. That was simply the kind of person he was. The hole his absence has left in our family is impossible to put into words. My sister and her children are experiencing the most painful thing a family can go through, and we are all trying to support each other through an unimaginable time. We are asking for help so we can give him the funeral and memorial service he deserves and properly honor the incredible life he lived during the short time we were blessed to have him.
