Our sweet girl, Sif, is currently on an emergency flight to Denver with a medical team waiting to give her an immediate blood transfusion and prepare her for a bone marrow transfusion. The doctors are working urgently to determine whether she is facing bone cancer or leukemia. My heart is sinking, and I’m at a loss for how we got here. Just four weeks ago, Sif was experiencing cold-like symptoms with a severe cough. After a visit to the walk-in clinic, she was prescribed amoxicillin, but her condition only worsened. She developed fevers, bruising easily, slept all day, wouldn’t eat, and began throwing up. Even at her well-child checkup, the doctor said she looked great, but my motherly instincts told me something was very wrong. That’s when I decided to take her to the ER, and it became clear the healthcare system had failed us.

Now, we are facing a whirlwind of medical decisions and uncertainty. The funds raised here will help cover Sif’s medical bills, the cost of emergency flights, hotel stays, and food while we are in Denver for her treatment. Every bit of support will help us focus on Sif’s care and recovery, and ease the financial burden during this incredibly difficult time.
