Hi my name is Ronda and I am fundraising for my niece Amanda and her husband Sheldon
Support for Sheldon and Family – A Story of Strength, Love, and Community
Sheldon has been a hardworking trucker and devoted father and husband, who has faced unimaginable health challenges over the years. Diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), Sheldon endured years of debilitating pain, internal bleeding, and eventually kidney failure. In a life-changing act of kindness, a close friend donated a kidney to Sheldon in 2019 — a gift that gave our family renewed hope.
After the transplant, Sheldon continued to give his all — working full-time, building a family business, and supporting our community. Sadly, in late 2023, he was diagnosed with CIDP (Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy), a rare autoimmune disorder. His condition rapidly progressed, and he is now in a wheelchair, undergoing aggressive treatments including plasma exchanges, IVIG, and Rituximab.
Despite everything, Sheldon remains our rock. Our daughter has switched to homeschooling, my mom moved in to help, and I continue to juggle caregiving, family, and our store — which we built to give back to Camrose.
Recently, Sheldon’s health took another terrifying turn, but with community support and sheer will, he pulled through again. Now more than ever, we need help. Friends and customers — now family — are rallying behind us to keep Sheldon’s fight going and keep our store alive, as it’s become a place of connection and support for many.
Your support will help cover medical costs, travel for treatment, and keep our store open so we can continue serving and staying connected to this incredible community. From the bottom of our hearts — thank you!
