Shaylea Rae Gaona passed away in the early morning hours of January 25th, 2026, in a tragic apartment fire. She leaves behind her 9-month-old baby boy, Kyzir, who is safe and now with family. Shaylea had just turned 21 in December and was so proud to have moved into her first apartment. She was a hard worker and a valued member of our Huntertown Treats Dairy Queen team since 2023. Her dedication and kindness touched everyone she worked with, and her loss is deeply felt by all of us.
Shaylea's family is now facing the unimaginable challenge of saying goodbye while also caring for baby Ky. In addition to funeral expenses, there are many costs involved in making sure Ky has everything he needs as he grows. Shaylea also leaves behind two siblings and a cousin who is part of our Dairy Queen team, making this loss especially close to our hearts. Our DQ Treats team has come together to start this GoFundMe in hopes of easing the financial burden on Shaylea's family during this incredibly difficult time.
