In September 2025, our lives changed in an instant when my husband Shawn fell off a 20ft ladder onto cement. The accident left him in a coma, and since then, he has faced ongoing physical and mental challenges. Shawn is still unable to work, and every day brings new hurdles as we navigate his recovery together. Disability assistance is still a year or so away, which makes this time especially difficult for us.
