Our oldest son, Shawn Woodburn, went to the emergency room on January 9th after his appendix ruptured. During surgery, doctors also had to remove a large part of his colon. After testing a growth on his colon, Shawn was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. This news has been devastating for our family, especially since Shawn has always been healthy and rarely gets sick.
Unfortunately, Shawn lost his medical benefits last year and currently has no coverage. We are raising funds to help cover his medical bills from the emergency visit, surgery, and week-long hospital stay, as well as the costs of future treatments and tests. Shawn has already started chemotherapy and is handling it as well as can be expected. His doctors have informed him that he may need a second surgery to remove additional growths once he has healed from the first operation. Shawn will be out of work for several months during his recovery and treatment, so the funds will also help support him during this difficult time.
Shawn is a fighter and truly a good person, always willing to help others no matter what. He has a long road to recovery ahead, and now he needs your support. Whether you can donate, share his page, or keep him in your prayers, our family will be very grateful. Thank you in advance for your kind words and generosity.
