Shawn and Sharyn have been an inseparable team for 15 years. After a long career, 2 unsuccessful marriages, and a skin cancer diagnosis, Shawn saw no other option but to step up and care for her until the end of her life. Sharyn left Hawaii in 2008 to live with Shawn. Since then, they have supported each other; Shawn providing housing and covering the bills and Sharyn maintaining the household. Even after losing it all in a fire in 2015, they persevered, bouncing back to create a loving home and healthy life.

Throughout her life, Sharyn has undergone 28 biopsies and has been poked and analyzed by many doctors. The prescribed pharmaceuticals had severely weakened her liver leaving her vulnerable. Sharyn received a mastectomy 5 years ago that came with a liver cancer diagnosis. Sharyn now suffers from cancer of the skin, liver, bone, and breast. She’s a proud, strong woman who has denied the state of her health and chose not to disclose any of this information to those close to her, including Shawn until now. She continued to live her life as she always had: running the household, gardening, playing and coaching tennis. Approaching it all with passion and tenacity. This woman was unstoppable until a few months ago. Shawn’s vow to care for his mother remains true as her final days are upon us.

Sharyn has chosen to be free of pharmaceuticals, chemo therapy, and radiation therapy. An all organic diet and cannabis continues to be her medicines of choice. Shawn has been at her side as Sharyn’s health is rapidly declining.
