Dear friends and family, my name is Luke (Hayley’s partner).

This GoFundMe page is being set up in an attempt to support Sharon and the Gunning family during this incredibly difficult time.

Many of you have asked if there is any way to contribute to the care and support of Sharon and her family.

Sharon’s Story:

Many of you close to Sharon will know that, back in 2012, she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Since then, she has been on a long, hard journey of various treatments, including rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, which allowed her some time in remission.

She has tackled this with unwavering positivity and self-belief that one day she would be cancer-free and able to live life to the fullest.

After the bravest and most courageous fight, with the best care team at Bristol Oncology, the family have had to hear the devastating news that Sharon’s cancer has now spread to her brain and back. This means there is now no more treatment available.

Many of you close to the Gunning’s will know that 3 years ago they had to sell there family home due to a financial situation.

The family members are mostly self-employed and have understandably taken a lot of time off work to become full-time carers and spend as much time with Sharon as possible.

Sharon’s wish has been to move back home with her parents, which she has now done, where she is surrounded by love, support, and 24-hour palliative care from nurses and her family.

This isn’t something the family would normally ask for, but contributions would help to continue supporting Sharon’s wishes now and continue to fulfil them on behalf of her in the future.

The family thank you for your continued support during this difficult time and are all incredibly grateful for the wonderful people surrounding Sharon and the support she has received over the past 12 years.
