When one mother hurts, we all hurt. On December 22, 2025, Jahkari Corbett—a loving brother and son—was tragically and unjustifiably murdered just days before Christmas. His mother, Sharika Copeland-Corbett, is now left with only memories of her baby boy. Jahkari had a nurturing spirit and was the protector of his mother and siblings. He was smart, outgoing, lovable, and an unforgettable young man whose presence touched everyone around him.
Sharika is a single mother who works hard every day to support her children. Now, she faces the unimaginable challenge of staying strong for her other seven babies while grieving the loss of Jahkari. The pain of losing a child is something no parent should ever have to endure, and the journey ahead will require immense strength and support from those around her.
We are coming together as a community to help Sharika and her family through this difficult time. Your support will help provide counseling and daily needs for Sharika and her children as they begin to heal. Please join us in standing with Sharika, her family, and all those affected by this tragedy. Together, we can show them they are not alone and make a stand against gun violence in our community.
Please help us support Sharika and her children during this heartbreaking time.
