Shannon is not only my sister but my
Best friend . She is one of the kindest and sweetest people I know. She is the person that would do anything to help her friends and family.
Right now she needs that in return
After being in tbe hospital for 80 days Shannon was discharged home with home Heath care support and oxygen.
Since she has been released from Henry Ford I haven’t had the chance to update everything that has gone on the past week. She was transferred to Henry Ford to be evaluated by the lung transplant team. With all the unknowns of covid they were not sure how her lungs would recover on their own. Not surprisingly we were overwhelmed by all the requirements and tests needed to be considered for lung transplant. So time is going to be what tells us which way this is going to go.
So here she is now home and still struggling with some of the same problems she was having in the hospital . Still requires continuous oxygen, still desaturates with any activity, still having a hard time breathing and still not able to be alone.
Family will be helping take turns staying with Shannon and we are looking into options to help fill in the gaps of our schedules.
The road to recovery is just beginning. It’s going to be long and bumpy. We believe Shannon is up for the challenges as she is by far one of tbe strongest people I have ever met.
We want to say thank you to everyone who has supported and continues to support Shannon.
Every little bit will help in her recovery process and day to day life. As always prayers are free and we will accept them with love and grace.
