Hi everyone,
My name is Nicole, and I’m writing this on behalf of my sister Laura, her partner Shane Crommer, and their little boy Elijah.
Just a few short weeks ago, Shane — who’s only 35 — was diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer (Diffuse Midline Glioma, H3 K27-altered).
It was completely unexpected and has turned their world upside down overnight.
Shane is one of the kindest, funniest, and most genuine people you could ever meet.
He’s a devoted dad to Elijah and the rock of our family — always the one helping others, fixing things, and lifting everyone’s spirits.
Now we’re determined to give that strength back to him.
Why we’re raising funds
Shane is currently under the care of the neuro-oncology team in Nottingham, where he’s receiving treatment and ongoing support.
His doctors are also exploring specialist options and potential access to new targeted treatments (like ONC201), as well as supportive therapies such as oxygen therapy — which could bring extra hope but also extra expense.
At the same time, we want to help Shane and Laura focus on what truly matters:
time together and making precious memories with Elijah — simple family days, keepsakes, and the comfort of knowing they can take this journey without constant financial pressure.
How your donation will help
Your support will go toward:
- Travel and accommodation for hospital treatments and appointments
- Home-based care and equipment to make Shane comfortable
- Private consultations or therapies that might extend or improve his quality of life
- Everyday living costs while Laura takes time away from work to be with him
- Creating special family memories with Elijah
Even the smallest donation — or simply sharing this page — helps more than words can say.
Everything raised will go directly toward giving Shane the best possible care, comfort, and time with his family.
Thank you
Thank you for reading, donating, or sharing.
Your kindness, love, and messages of encouragement mean the world to us all.
Shane has given so much to others — now it’s our turn to stand with him.
With love and gratitude,
Nicole & Family
(Laura’s sister and Shane’s soon-to-be sister-in-law)
