My brother Charlie and his wife Shandy have always been the kind of people who go out of their way to help others. Whether it’s Shandy’s compassionate work at the Pregnancy Resource Center or their active involvement in their church, they are constantly looking for ways to serve and support those around them. Now, as Charlie heads into his last semester of Bible School, their family is facing a new and difficult challenge.
Shandy is scheduled for her second hip surgery this year, taking place the day after Christmas. This means both she and Charlie will need to take additional time off work, and the family will face an intense recovery process. The costs of surgery, lost income, meals, and transportation to and from physical therapy appointments are adding up quickly. On top of the financial strain, the family will need extra help with meals and caring for their children during Shandy’s 6 weeks of at home recovery.
My heart is to see the people around them come together and lift them up in this difficult season—especially during the holidays—just as they have always done for others. Any support, whether it’s a donation, a meal, or a prayer, will make a meaningful difference for this dear family. Thank you sincerely to everyone who helps; you truly make the world a brighter place!
