Shanda and I have worked together for years, and she has always been a caring and dedicated friend. Recently, her family received devastating news: her husband Chad, at just 52 years old, was diagnosed with colorectal cancer after a routine colonoscopy on 1/29/26. The results were difficult, and further testing confirmed the diagnosis, along with infections and other complications. Since then, Shanda and Chad have faced a whirlwind of doctor visits, specialist appointments, and surgeries. The journey is just beginning, and the road ahead will be challenging as they fight this battle together.

Shanda and Chad recently built their dream home in the country, looking forward to a bright future. They are also expecting their first grandchild in April, a moment that should be filled with joy and hope. Their daughter Kylie works as a Cardiac Cath lab social procedures technologist specialist and is expecting a baby boy in April. Their son Kaisen is a senior at Hannibal High School and graduates in May. This diagnosis has turned their world upside down, and the emotional and financial toll will be immense.
